Mike Nahom, President
Mike Nahom earned his BA in Economics from University of Colorado, 1989 and his MBA in Finance from University of Connecticut, 1996.  A resident of New Milford since 1993, Mr. Nahom is the President/Owner of Eastern Connector Specialty Corp- a New Milford based Electrical distributor specializing in Cable Assemblies for the Transit industry.  He is married to Michelle Nahom and has three children: Jackson, Mia, and Eli.

In addition to serving as a board member of the Community Culinary and Co-head of Auction Dinner Committee, Mr. Nahom serves as a board member and treasurer of the New Milford Economic Development Corporation.  Other community service includes:  participation in the Fresh Air Fund for the past 6 summers where children from NYC spend the summer with the Nahom family, Coach for the Soccer Club of New Milford (2005 to present),  Volunteer Track & Cross Country coach at Canterbury School for the last 10+ years,  Boys Travel Coordinator, Head of New Milford’s Fall & Spring Tournament (40+ teams), former Inhouse coordinator & Girls Travel Soccer Coordinator, Head Coach of many teams (including teams my kids were not on)

Other accomplishment: 5 time winner of the New Milford 8 Mile Road Race.

 

David Albanese, Esq., Vice President
David Albanese, Esq. is a New Milford native and an attorney with the firm of Moots, Pellegrini, Arnold & Gronbach, where he specializes in residential and commercial real estate transactions, corporate and banking transactions and small business matters. Mr. Albanese is admitted to practice in Connecticut (2006) and New York (Appellate Division, Second Department 2007). He received his undergraduate education at Fordham University (B.A. 2003) and his law degree from Brooklyn Law School (J.D. Cum Laude 2006).

Mr. Albanese has been a member of the board of directors since 2011. He brings to the board his legal expertise, fundraising skills, extensive knowledge of the community and dedication to the continued success of the school.

 

Scott Mulhare, CPA, Treasurer
Scott E. Mulhare, CPA has been a Partner with the firm Bakewell & Mulhare since its inception in 2010. Mr. Mulhare graduated Magna Cum Laude from Champlain College where he received his B.S. degree in Accounting and Finance. He began his career in 1997 with KPMG LLP in Burlington, Vermont where he gained knowledge in all areas of tax. His “Big 4” experience includes individual, partnership, and corporate taxation. His knowledge in accounting and consulting is broad, with expertise in the areas of trusts, estates, and probate administration. His vast knowledge also includes estate and retirement planning; taxation of non-profit and charitable organizations; and business planning. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in Connecticut. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Connecticut Society of CPA’s (CSCPA). Mr. Mulhare also serves on the boards of numerous charitable organizations. He resides in Roxbury, CT with his wife Becky and family.

 

Sally Talarico, Secretary
Sally Talarico has made her home in New Milford since 1968. While raising her family with her late husband, Vinny, Sally entered town politics and was elected to the Board of Education, serving for 12 years in positions of Board Secretary, Policy Committee Chairperson, Bus Safety Committee Chairperson and the Teacher Recognition Committee, which she founded and Chaired.

Sally worked for New Milford Hospital for many years as the New Milford Hospital Foundation’s capital campaign coordinator and later Director of Special Events raising funds for the hospital through benefit auctions, gala balls, golf tournaments and other special events. After her retirement from the New Milford Hospital Foundation she began her “second career” and volunteered for many years at a horse rescue, is on the board of the New Milford Charitable Fund and coordinator of Friends of the Reservoir, a group of volunteers who maintain the Reservoir Park on Second Hill Road in New Milford. Over the past nine years, this group has built three bridges, two loop trails…one around the reservoir pond, a canoe and kayak ramp and three informational kiosks and in doing so, opened this area for the public’s use.

Sally joined the Community Culinary School Advisory Board, now the board of directors, after volunteering on the School’s first special event. During her tenure on the board, Sally developed the school’s first newsletter, continues to serve on special events for the School and is a member of the Governance and Media & Public Relations committees.

 

Jeff Kilberg
Jeff Kilberg was born and in Danbury, CT. He graduated from Danbury High School and attended Elmira College with a degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology and Psychology. He later graduated with a Master’s Degree in Special Education from Southern CT University. After several years of teaching, Jeff joined his father at Country Homes Realty starting an insurance division. He became a resident of New Milford in 1980 and has lived in the area ever since. He later merged his business with Nicholas/Tobin Insurance and is a partner in the agency. Jeff has always been very active in the community. He has taught Hebrew at Temple Sholom, been a board member of Healing The Children NE, and is now the Vice President of the New Milford Center Cemetery. Jeff has always been interested in the food service business, specializing in insurance for restaurant and other food preparation businesses. Along with his business partner and in conjunction with the New Milford Chamber of Commerce, Jeff began “A Taste of New Milford”. The proceeds have continued to benefit The Community Culinary School of Northwestern CT.

Lynda Lee Arnold

Attorney Arnold received a Juris Doctorate degree from Pace University School of Law and is currently working on an advanced legal degree in Elder Law and Estate Planning at Western New England School of Law.

A member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) and the Connecticut Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (CT-NAELA), Attorney Arnold is also a member of the Elder Law section of the Connecticut Bar Association, as well as a member of the Danbury and Litchfield Bar Associations.

Ms. Arnold has been a practicing attorney in Connecticut since 1995. She is also admitted to practice in New York State. Attorney Arnold is a graduate of Western Connecticut State University and the New Milford High School, Class of 1981.

Ms. Arnold lives in Sherman with her husband, Peter Arnold. They have two grown children, Katherine and Peter and a grandson Ryan.

Judi Morse
Judi Morse was born in The Bronx.  She has lived in Whitestone, Long Island, during her elementary school years, before moving to Newburgh, New York where she attended high school at Newburgh Free Academy.  Looking back on her educational career, Mrs. Morse admits that ‘joining the cheerleading squad’ was her most enjoyable high school memory.  Mrs. Morse went on to college, received a masters at Manhattanville College in Special Education and spent the next twenty-five years teaching high school at the Pleasantville Cottage School in Pleasantville, New York.

Mrs. Morse and her husband retired to Candlewood Lake in 1996.  She became involved accidentally with the Community Culinary School.  It was the summer of 2008, and the food bank was out of supplies.  Representing a group of neighbors, Mrs. Morse delivered a contribution to Peg Molina, the town social worker and co-founder of the Community Culinary School.  After speaking about our shared nonprofit backgrounds, the rest is history!  Mrs. Morse claims her “years on the CCSNW Board far outshines my ‘cheer leading years.”

When not attending to Board business, Mrs. Morse loves to garden, read, travel and visit with her three grown grandchildren, family and friends.

 

Ivan Shiffman
Ivan is Vice President at Union Savings Bank and a New Milford, CT native. He has been in banking and real estate for many years and focuses professionally on helping businesses and individuals with their financial needs. He is also an acting Board Member of The New Milford Economic Development Corporation. Personally, Ivan spends much of his time supporting various local charitable organizations and currently serves as President of the New Milford Rotary Club, Board Member of The Community Culinary School of Northwestern Connecticut, Board Member of the Friends of Sullivan Farm and Board Member of The Pratt Nature Center in New Milford. Ivan is also the Treasurer for Temple Sholom.

Ivan is passionate about New Milford and is part of a team of volunteers working to increase accessibility and availability of recreational facilities throughout New Milford. Ivan and his family reside in New Milford with their three dogs, ferret, guinea pig and gold fish. In the winter the family enjoys time at their favorite winter retreat, Okemo Mountain, for some skiing and snowboarding.
